Chinese man arrested for deceiving 4 women all living in the same complex without knowing each other
A married man in China, named pseudonym Xiaojun, was exposed for deceiving four women over a span of four years, all of whom unknowingly lived in the same housing complex.
Xiaojun, whose age has not been disclosed, hails from Jilin province in northeastern China and comes from a poor background.
He dropped out of secondary school but fabricated a story for his dates, claiming his parents were successful business people. To support his deception, he bought counterfeit luxury gifts for his first girlfriend, Xiaojia, who eventually became his wife.
Despite Xiaojun’s real background—his mother works as a bathhouse attendant and his father as a part-time construction worker—he continued with the lies.
When Xiaojia became pregnant, they registered their marriage. However, upon discovering the truth about his background, Xiaojia filed for divorce and decided to raise her child alone, expelling him from their home.
Shortly after, Xiaojun met another woman, Xiaohung, through an online game. He convinced her that he was renovating their future home and borrowed 140,000 yuan, which he used to rent another apartment in the same complex. During their relationship, Xiaohung also became pregnant. Meanwhile, Xiaojun maintained relationships with three other women in the same complex: university students Xiaomin and Xiaoxin, and a nurse named Xiaolan. Over time, he managed to defraud them of amounts totaling 15,000 yuan, 10,000 yuan, and 8,000 yuan, respectively.
The scam unraveled when one of his girlfriends, Xiaoxin, urgently needed 10,000 yuan for tuition. Xiaojun responded by renting a car and giving her a black plastic bag, claiming it contained 100,000 yuan but instructing her not to open it.
After he ignored her messages, she eventually opened the bag, finding it filled with practice cash used by bank staff. She immediately reported him to the police, leading to his arrest.
Recently, the People’s Procuratorate of Fengman District, Jilin City, sentenced Xiaojun to nine years and six months in prison, along with a 120,000-yuan fine for fraud, bigamy, and theft. His illegal gains, totaling 280,000 yuan, were recovered and retur
ned to his victims.
