Comedian AY angrily responds to an AI-generated video depicting him and May Edochie locking lips with each other (Watch)

Top Nigerian comedian and filmmaker, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, found himself at the center of a calculated scandal involving May Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie. However, he wasn’t about to let it slide.

The controversy ignited after the duo, who had recently traveled to London with their co-stars to promote AY’s highly anticipated film, The Waiter, became entangled in online drama.

A seemingly harmless photo and video of them aboard a plane—both sporting matching The Waiter branded sweaters and color-coordinated trousers—fueled speculation, drawing them into an unexpected web of controversy.

What should have been a straightforward promotional moment quickly turned into a full-blown, fabricated scandal when the original post was manipulated into an AI-generated video falsely showing them kissing. The doctored clip ignited a firestorm of gossip and outrage, further fueling the controversy

In a fiery Instagram post, AY lashed out at the faceless individuals behind the malicious attempt to tarnish his name. He condemned those who constantly linked him to every female celebrity he worked with, regardless of how innocent the connection was.

Seizing the moment, he revisited a past encounter with these scandal-mongers, specifically recalling the false rumors that tied him to BBNaija’s Alex.

AY openly addressed the lasting damage caused by such fabrications, highlighting how Alex had been wrongly accused of dating him and how the fallout from that baseless scandal continued to affect her. He challenged the perpetrators to channel their AI skills into something meaningful instead of using technology as a weapon to destroy reputations.
