Russia-Ukraine-US Talks Resume in Abu Dhabi Amid Ongoing Conflict

      Talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the US have resumed in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, aimed at ending the nearly four-year-long war in Ukraine. The meeting, held on January 23-24, 2026, is the first trilateral discussion between the three nations since the conflict began. The negotiations are focused on the US-proposed peace plan, with Ukraine's eastern Donbas region being a key sticking point. Russia demands Ukraine cede control of the entire Donbas area, while Ukraine refuses to give up territory it still holds. ⁴ Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Russia must show readiness to end the war, stating, "The key is that Russia should be ready to end this war, which it started".
