Hegseth Ousts Navy Secretary Phelan Mid-Blockade After Shipbuilding Power Struggle

Hegseth Ousts Navy Secretary Phelan Mid-Blockade After Shipbuilding Power Struggle🚨🇺🇸 Hegseth just fired the Navy Secretary... John Phelan is out.  The firing comes during the Navy's biggest conference of the year, one day after the Pentagon rolled out its $65.8 billion shipbuilding budget, while more than 15 American warships are actively enforcing the blockade on Iranian ports. The backstory is messier than the headline.  Phelan had a direct line to Trump. Regular Mar-a-Lago meetings. Middle-of-the-night shipbuilding texts with the president.  Last fall he pitched Trump on a modern battleship program, bypassing Hegseth entirely. Hegseth responded by creating a new czar for submarine acquisition, a job that normally lives under the Navy, and making it report directly to Deputy Secretary Feinberg instead. It was a slow squeeze. This is the finishing move. Phelan is now the latest in a string of senior firings under Hegseth's Pentagon, including Army Chief of Sta...

Lebanon Seeks One-Month Truce Extension as Hezbollah Again Targets Troops With Drone

Lebanon said it will seek a one-month extension of the U.S.-mediated ceasefire with Israel set to expire Sunday, as attacks in the south strained the fragile truce ahead of Washington talks between Lebanese and Israeli ambassadors. President Joseph Aoun confirmed Beirut’s push to prolong the 10-day deal that halted six weeks of bombardment and a ground invasion. 322f Tensions rose Wednesday when Hezbollah said it launched an attack drone at Israeli forces in southern Lebanon, calling it retaliation for Israeli violations. Israel’s military said it intercepted “a hostile aircraft” launched by Hezbollah toward soldiers in the south. Lebanon’s state news agency reported an Israeli strike on a car in al-Tiri killed two people the same day. 322f Under the truce, Israel remains in areas it invaded and seeks to create a buffer zone along the border. Both sides have traded accusations of breaches since the ceasefire took effect.

Football is for enjoying it and cheering, not for disrespecting people - Lamine Yamal

Lamine Yamal statement. “𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐦, 𝐚𝐥𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡. Yesterday in the stadium, the chant “the one who doesn’t boo is Muslim” was heard. I know it was aimed at the rival team and it wasn’t something against me — but as a Muslim, it doesn’t stop being a lack of respect and something intolerable”. “I understand that not all the fans are like that… but to those who sing these things: using a religion as a joke in a stadium makes you look like ignorant and racist people”. “Football is for enjoying it and cheering, not for disrespecting people for who they are or what they believe in”. “That said, thanks to the people who came to cheer us on, see you at the World Cup”.
