Hundreds of rioters from the January 6 attack on the Capitol reunited with their families yesterday after Donald Trump issued roughly 1,500 pardons during his first day in office.
Among those released was Stewart Rhodes, ex leader of the Oath Keepers group, who had been serving an 18-year sentence after being convicted of seditious conspiracy in 2021.
He said he felt "relief" and "joy" about his release.
Last night, the Federal Bureau of Prisons said more than 200 people convicted of January 6-related crimes had been released from prison so far.
