Budget cut affects ability to fight blazes, LA fire chief says
A Los Angeles fire chief has said that recent budget cuts have "negatively impacted" her team's ability to tackle the blazes.
"It is absolutely one of the most horrific natural disasters in the history of Los Angeles," Kristin Crowley told CNN.
She added that any type of cut "would negatively impact our ability to carry out our mission".
Ms Crowley also said "the fire department needs help", saying there are not enough staff or fire stations.
LA Mayor Karen Bass has been questioned about $17.8m (£14.5m) in budget cuts for the LAFD, and has denied the reductions had any impact on firefighting efforts during this week's crisis.
