Israel has signed an agreement with an American company to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. The aid distribution will be advised by former senior officials at the UN World Food Programme and World Central Kitchen.
This new mechanism aims to bypass existing aid agencies and organizations that Israel and the IDF have accused of being too close to Hamas.
The American company will work under the aegis of the newly established Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which will establish four safe distribution sites to serve up to 300,000 people, ultimately benefiting 1.2 million Gazans.
US Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff presented this plan to the UN Security Council, outlining a detailed mechanism for delivering aid to Palestinians in Gaza without involving Hamas.
