Serbia’s former president Aleksandar Vučić has conceded defeat for his ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) in Sunday’s snap parliamentary election.
“We don’t have the final results yet, but… it’s clear we lost. The ‘Student List’ won,” Vučić told supporters in Belgrade.
He projected the Student List would get 135 to 140 seats in the 250-seat parliament, with SNS on 105 and no one else entering parliament.
The result ends 14 years of SNS dominance, after a student-led movement born from months of anti-corruption protests secured an outright majority.
