Donald Trump has just written a few words on his Truth Social platform - it's past 1am in Washington DC after a packed day.


He says his team is in the process of removing more than 1,000 appointees from the administration of Joe Biden "who are not aligned with our vision to Make America Great Again".


He says this is a "notice of dismissal" and has listed four people who will be removed.


Trump ends his statement with the words "You're fired!" - his catchphrase from The Apprentice.
