President Donald Trump's tariff policy has generated a staggering $150 billion in revenue for the US government, with July collections reaching a record $28 billion.
This surpasses the previous monthly record of $27 billion set in June. The significant revenue increase is attributed to Trump's "America First" trade agenda, which imposes tariffs on imported goods to protect domestic industries and promote fair trade practices. Goldman Sachs predicts that tariff revenue could exceed $300 billion by year-end.
While the administration touts the success of its trade policy, critics argue that the economic burden may ultimately be passed on to American consumers through higher prices.
