Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) is raising a red flag. The hospital now records 4 to 6 NEW stroke cases daily, translating to over 1,000 admissions every year.
According to Neurologist Dr. Priscilla Abrafi Asafo-Adjei, Head of the Multidisciplinary Stroke Team at KATH, nearly half of these cases are people BELOW 45 years.
Doctors warn stroke is increasingly affecting young people and call for urgent lifestyle checks, early screening and awareness.
